The MD/CEO of KEDA Hajiya Rekiya Onaivo who doubles as the Team Lead representing Kogi State for the implementation of Result Area3 (RA3) wishes to notify the General public that specifically, “female-owned” businesses need to position themselves to utilise the opportunity the NG-CARES offers on gender inclusiveness.
The gender sensitive MD says there is need to empower”female-owned”businesses and upgrade them to meet up with the ever increasing challenges in employment environment ,adding that, female- owned businesses are the most vulnerable.
Onaivo said Women are natural administrators with capability to manage funds properly hence the need to empower them to stimulate their businesses and in turn, affect their homes positively.
However, it is worthy of note that KEDA role focuses on Facilitating Recovery and Enhancing Capabilities of SMEs in three areas.
1. Easing Financing Constraints provides Conditional capital Grant for co-financing of loans up to 40% of
2. Conditional Grant to support operational expenditure post COVID-19 to MSEs.This covers operational costs including rent, utilities, private security as well as acquiring solar panels to secure sustainable access to energy. This grant will not cover any due taxes or custom payments.
3. ICT Enhancemeny to SME is a conditional Grants to support adoption and upgrade of digital technology including investment in SMEs IT Infrastructure and supporting enhancing MSMEs capability through leveraging digital technology.
Project readiness is tidied up for implementation within the next few weeks. KEDA shall work in the 21 LGA using her enumerators to capture and register applicants who shall be verified as beneficiaries through seamless transparent manner.
Hajia Rekiya commends the administration of his excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for committing to the NG-CARES program to improve the quality of life of the poor and vulnerable households and firms in the state.
She says the His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has earned for himself, the confidence of everyone to serve the people beyond Kogi State come 2023.
