The proposed Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Youth Carnival spearheaded by a renowned unifier, a philanthropist, and a grassroot politician as well as an ardent supporter of the New Direction Government under the able leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Hon. Segun Olobatoke SSA Youth and Women Mobilization Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency will no doubt foster uncommon development and showcase the rich culture of the Okun to the entire world.
When carefully planned and executed Carnivals can metamorphose into a new driving force which will activate both the cultural sphere and exhibition activities, and trade of a given society.
It is worthy of note that promotion and advancement of culture has been an integral part of Carnivals around the world. Efforts in the proposed Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Youth Carnival will focuse on promoting the cultural diversity of the region and cultural immersion to enhance co-operation among the people.
On the socio-economic level, the Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Youth Carnival will generates business opportunities for multitude in the entertainment sector, as well as drive the growth and development of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), many of which are skills-based services. These range from entertainment services related to cultural art forms.
Hon. Segun Olobatoke SSA Youth and Women Mobilization Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency seeks to complement the effort of the present Administration by uniting the people of the area notwithstanding their political affiliation or leaning through the youth carnival.
Let me state categorically that Hon. Segun Olobatoke has been working assiduously to take the gospel of the new direction to the grassroots by organizing many empowerment programs that cut across all class in the area.
According to Hon Olobatoke the Planning and execution of the carnival will involve many members of the community, which will yields a number of social benefits which includes an opportunity to help build a community of like minds, foster a sense of pride within Okuns both within and outside the state community.
This Youth carnival will cultivate a sense of hometown pride in our teeming youth and this has been identified by experts as a critical factor in the development and improvement of any community. Experts has found that Residents with community pride are more likely to speak positively about their town to others and to volunteer with organizations and activities that support the common good of the society.
The event will also serve as tourist sites and attractions, which can be both educational as well as entertaining to visitors and add value by serving as one of the main driving forces to preserve and strengthen indigenous cultural identity of Okunland while at the same time making a positive contribution to social and economic development.
It is against this backdrop that a visionary leader like Hon. Olobatoke who seeks to portray the rich culture of the Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu people to the world must be encouraged by stakeholders from Okunland and beyond in his quest to unite the people of the Constituency.
