The Kabba APC Patriots has described as “mischievous and baseless” a recent publication titled “STOP IMPERSONATING KABBA APC LEADERS”, saying the authors are agents of division with no electoral value in Kabba Bunu LGA.
In a rejoinder signed by Tunde Aluko Inubiwon on behalf of the group, the Patriots said they ordinarily would not have responded, but chose to set the records straight to avoid misleading the public and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo which is their intention.
“For the avoidance of doubt, aside Prince Matthew Kolawole, former Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Wemi Jones, the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Omoluabi Olabode Adeyemi, Special Adviser on Energy, and the Council Chairman who were not at the Abuja visit, all others who visited Rt. Hon. James Faleke are bonafide APC members with proven capacity to deliver their polling units anytime, any day,” the statement said.
The group insisted that removing the “value addition” of those who made the Abuja trip would leave “nothing left for the APC in Kabba,” stressing that members of the delegation are the “trajectory and face of Kabba APC.”
According to the Patriots, the visit was not made on behalf of the Local Government Executive, nor as representatives of Kabba APC or Owe nation.
“At no time did the delegation claim that they were authorized, nominated, or mandated by the APC in Kabba to represent the party or speak on behalf of its leadership at any level. They went in their individual and personal capacities strictly as APC members, with the view to strengthen the party ahead of 2027,” the statement added.
The group alleged that those behind the earlier write-up are afraid because their “antics have collapsed” and they have no history of delivering elections in their units.
“We are aware that those who are afraid of the visit are those who think they have caged the Governor and still want to remain relevant. Unfortunately, they have no electoral value,” it stated.
The Kabba APC Patriots said they have nothing against Governor Ododo and that the visit to Hon. Faleke had no hidden agenda.
“It was to rub minds ahead of the Presidential and other elections, to cement ties and strategize. There is no restriction placed on seeing Hon. James Faleke,” the group noted, while also commending Faleke for his developmental efforts in Kogi State.
The group appealed to Governor Ododo not to be misled by “political opportunists” but to embrace broad-based reconciliation in Kabba APC while it can still be salvaged.
“Our mainstay is promoting peace, unity, and collective progress. We urge the Governor to beware of the path of division and political mischief some people are trying to create all for want of relevance,” it said.
The Patriots reaffirmed their commitment to the ideals of the APC and said members of the delegation remain “the real builders of the modern day APC in Kabba” who will continue to work for the party’s usual victory.
“We are men of integrity and will not claim what we are not. Without overstating the obvious, those who visited Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke did so as APC members from Kabba and not as leaders of the APC in Kabba, or Kabba APC Executives” the statement concluded.
