June 12: Kogi SDP Seeks Electoral Reforms, Congratulate Nigerians On Democracy Day


 

Kogi State Chairman of the Social Democatic Party has Congratulated Nigerians on the celebration of June 12 Democracy Day.

The Kogi State Chapter of the SDP Chairman in a chat with newsmen called on the indigenes of the state to press for the electoral amendment of our constitution, pointing out that it is the only avenue to enhancing a credible electoral process in the country.

The State Chairman, Alh Mouktar Atimah while speaking with journalist on the importance of the day, called for Electoral reforms that would strengthen the nation’s democracy.

He said our party was the beneficial of that process which is been adjudged as the freest election in the political history of the country.

There is the need for us to imbibe a credible electoral system, said it will help the nation to remain as one indivisible entity.

” Using our state as an example the tatata slogan have hindered our people in political participation because of the do or die attitude of the state government on electoral process.

” It is on record that our party have been the most victimized since the political development of the country.

” Our party is ready to take over Kogi state in the next election if only they can allow the electoral amendment.
