JUMABEE CELEBRATE EX-GOV YAHAYA BELLO AT 51

… Aide recounts how former governor spotted talent beyond politics, handed him opportunity to serve the Confluence State
Political associates and aides of former Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello, @officialgybkogi, have flooded social media with goodwill messages as he marks his 51st birthday today, April 18, 2026.
One of the heartfelt tributes came from a beneficiary of his mentorship, Olorunnipa Jumabi, fondly called Jumabee, who reflected on how the former governor looked beyond partisan lines to give him a chance to serve.
“Happy 51st birthday, His Excellency @officialgybkogi. You saw beyond politics in me and gave me a baton to showcase my capacity in the Confluence and beyond. I wish you long life and strength as another year is added, Papi 🙏🎂,” the message read.
Born on June 18, 1975, Alhaji Yahaya Bello served as Kogi State Governor from January 27, 2016 to January 27, 2024. During his two terms, he was known for a youth-focused administration that brought several young Kogites into governance and public service positions at early ages.
Observers note that his approach to leadership often emphasized capacity and commitment over long-standing political affiliations. That philosophy earned him the nickname “White Lion” among supporters and created pathways for many first-time public office holders in the state.
Well-wishers across the Confluence State and beyond are offering prayers as the former governor enters a new year:
Happy 51st birthday to His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
Signed
Juwon Olorunnipa Jumabee
