
As endorsement continues to pour in from all part of Nigeria, convergence of able youths, political leaders, stakeholders from Isoko, Urhobo and Ijaw ethnic groups under the umbrella of Coalition of Delta State Ex-Agitators solidarity movement for GYB2PYB gathered in Warri, Delta State to compel the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello to declare his interest for the number one seat in Nigeria.
The Delta State Ex Agitators, a pressure group which stands for equity, fairness and interest of it’s people in the Niger Delta region under the leadership of it’s chairman/Leader, General Joseph Figbele issued a communique at the end of the group’s general conference held at Wetland Hotel Warri, Delta State, said the group completely aligns with the agenda of the Governor of Kogi State, his success story in major critical sectors, youths and women involvement in Governance, rapid transformation in the agricultural sector and many others.
General Joseph Figbele said the resolve of the members and stakeholders of the Niger Delta is not based on any primordial sentiments but on concrete evidences of achievements recorded by Governor Bello. In his words; “We are aware that Gov Bello is yet to declare his interest, but whether he announces that he is going to contest or not, we have already made him our candidate, and we are sure he is the right person at this time to lead the country. We are freedom fighters and our word is our bond”
The communiqué also stated that the “continued escalation of insecurity in Nigeria needs a man with fresh ideas to handle the situation. Governor Bello has scored excellently in this sector. Kogi State is one of the safest states in Nigeria today. We are the fifth largest region in the nation, and we have come out in our large numbers to endorse him for presidency; he must contest”.
