The People of Kogi state have been enjoined to continue to respect the uniqueness in the diversity of culture and religion.
Data Entering Officer Community Peace Action Network (CIPAN),of Interfaith Mediation Council on the on going Community Initiative to Promote Peace (CIPP) project Pastor John Akor stated this during a quarterly meeting of INTERFAITH Mediation Council in Lokoja.
Akor explained that there was need for the society to come together to protect the cultural heritage for a peaceful co-existence stressing that crisis can cause culture to go into extinction especially for the younger and generation yet unborn.
He urged them to respect individual difference and culture for a peaceful society.
On scriptural reflection the Administrative Secretary Kogi State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Elder Onile David (JP) Explained that the bible preaches love your neighbors as you love yourself with unity.
Elder Onile advised christian to always see each other as one and remember the day of accountability.
Speaking on Islamic perspective of peace the Public Relation officer of Kogi State Council of Ulamau Mallam Zakariya Abubakar explained that the meaning of Islam itself is peace, noting that the eluding peace in the society is not about religion but personal interest.
Mallam Zakariya noted that peace is sacred to almighty Allah.
