The Graphic Arts Department held a sendforth celebration in honor of one of their able Directors, Mr. Innocent Ameh.
The Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon.Kingsley Fanwo ,who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Teddy Adegbola, expressed his happiness, saying that Mr. Ameh had graciously spent his 35 years in active service to his country and his state in particular.
He added that the Department has been known for its practice of togetherness and that Arts or creativity is from God and when blessed with the talent is an opportunity to serve adding that artists are unique in whatever they do.
“We all have different destiny on this earth and wherever we find ourselves, we should show some love to one other, because some day we shall not be there again and the only thing that will speak for us is the love and the goodness we exhibited.”Mr Adegbola said.
He continued that all staff should exercise patience in whatever they do advising parents to encourage their children in developing drawing skills and other handwork in case of future endeavor.
Earlier in her opening remarks, the Acting Director Graphic Arts Department, Mrs. Grace Oguche, expressed her gratitude to the guests for honouring their invitation saying that Mr. Ameh is a jolly good fellow and mentor wishing him well in his future endeavors.
In their advise, the Retired Director of Planning, Government House Administration, Mr. Ibraheem Adams and the Director Finance and Accounts Ministry of Information and Communications ,Mr. Godwin Egbunu, said that his retirement would afford him the opportunity to to have enough rest, eat right and live a healthy life devoid of worry and plan for the future and, treat everyone well and keep himself busy by engaging in other activities.
Responding, Mr. Innocent Ameh expressed his joy over the show of love to him, saying that it meant a lot to him and proved that his good works were not unnoticed adding that it would make him do more as he was retiring.
He appreciated the State Government for improving the welfare of the people and advised parents to give their children sound education in order for them to live comfortably.
