Igwe K.O. Orizu III confers Senator Umeh with Chieftaincy Title, Ifechukwudelu Nnewi
The Senator Representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator (Dr) Victor Umeh OFR (Ohamadike Ndigbo) has been conferred with the prestigious Chieftaincy Title of “IFECHUKWUDELU NNEWI” by the First-Class Monarch of Nnewi, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Dr. Kenneth O. Orizu III,CON, JP ( Igwe Nnewi).
A report on the development, indicated that “During the Investiture , Senator Umeh was extolled by the Monarch and Members of the Cabinet for his outstanding and remarkable impact in promoting the Igbo Cause in Nigeria and for his applaudable performance in the Senate as an Extraordinary Senator of Anambra Central Senatorial District.
“It was said that the very revered Igwe Nnewi does not regularly award such Honour except for well deserved individuals carefully selected and who have been scrutinised and found worthy thus, congratulated Senator Umeh for attaining the uncommon feat and reputation amidst Ndi Nnewi.
“In his remark, Senator Umeh in company of his wife, Lady Prisca Umeh (Osodieme), the Traditional Ruler of Akwaeze, HRH Igwe Christopher Okpala (Ezennebo 111 of Akwaeze) and the Traditional Ruler of Aguluzigbo, HRH Igwe Rufus Iloduba (Igwe Ohanyelu II) expressed gratitude to the Monarch, Igwe Kenneth Orizu III and Members of the Royal Cabinet as well as the entire Nnewi Community for the Honour conferred on him, emphasizing that the gesture has further consolidated his friendship/relationship with Ndi Nnewi mentioning specifically, his Collaboration with Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu (Ikemba Nnewi) in establishing the All Progressives Grand Alliance ( APGA ) Party as well as Dame Virgy Etiaba—former deputy governor and first female governor in Nigeria; Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma, C.E.O of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturers among others.
“The Senator congratulated the King on the success of his 61st Ofala Celebration at 99 years of age. He further commended the Monarch and his Cabinet for the dynamic Leadership , peace and significant Progress in the Community.
“He noted that the Love and Honour shown to him by the Monarch and Ndi Nnewi is an Encouragement to him assuring them that he will not relent in speaking truth to Power as was late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and in ensuring the effective Representation of the people and to continue to represent Igbo Values.
“Among the list of Honourees were Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu—Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, His Excellency, Senator Dr. Chris Ngige—Former Anambra State Governor, Senator, Minister, and Chief Sylvester Okonkwo—Chief of Staff to the President of the Senate.”
