The Igala Students Association National body has elected a new leadership at the Just concluded national convention/election held on December 30, 2023 at the Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba.

The electoral process which was peaceful, free, fair and transparent began with the casting of votes by the Chapter Presidents and Secretaries and the Presidents of the nine (9) Kogi East LGAs at about 11am.

The election results which was announced by the Electoral Committee Chairman Sen. Adukwu Gideon Arome after the successful confirmation of the total number of votes casted in line with total numbers of Accredited voters produced Philip Enyojo of the Federal Polytechnic Idah as the President and the rest members of the Executive Council, and also produced Hamza Yusuf of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba as the Senate President and other Principal Officers of the Senate.

The convention/Election had in attendance some former Executives of the Association who are also the stakeholders of the association; the likes of Hon. Alfa Ebune, Yusuf Anthony Enemona, Comr. Kebiru Omatta, Comr. Sadiq Abubakar among others.

The Stakeholders in their individual capacities commended the outgoing administration for their efforts in repositioning the association and strengthening democratic model of leadership.

They equally hailed the Senate President Sen. Muhammed Suleiman Husseini for holding the election in the right time and ensuring a hitch-free process.

They beckoned on the newly elected to also uphold the course of representing the Igala Students at the National level.

They promised the newly elected officers of their support for the administration and their willingness to offer help where ever it is needed.

The security personnels were also on ground to maintain absolute peace and a calm atmosphere for a transparent Electoral process.
