IDAH LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS’ DAY

November 17, 2024

Idah, Kogi State

Today, we join the global community in commemorating International Students’ Day, a celebration of students’ resilience, determination, and pursuit of knowledge. As the Special Assistant on Student Affairs to the Idah Local Government Chairman, I am honored to recognize the achievements and contributions of Idah students worldwide.

We pay tribute to the students who have paved the way for future generations, particularly those who fought against oppression and tyranny. The events of November 17, 1939, where Czech universities were stormed by Nazis, resulting in the execution of nine student leaders and the closure of all Czech higher education institutions, serve as a poignant reminder of the power of student activism.

To Idah students, we acknowledge your hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Your pursuit of education is a beacon of hope for a brighter future. We celebrate your diversity, creativity, and innovative spirit.

As we mark this significant day, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting students’ welfare, education, and empowerment. We will continue to create opportunities for growth, provide resources for academic excellence, and foster a conducive learning environment.

Comr. Obaje Yusuf
Special Assistant on Student Affairs,
Idah Local Government Chairman.
