The Catholic Bishop of Idah Diocese,His Lordship Most Rev Dr Anthony Adaji, MSP, has commended a former Minister, Professor Stephen Ocheni for his contribution to the growth of churches in the Diocese.
Bishop Adaji gave the commendation today at a special mass to mark the the blessing of a grotto (statue of Virgin Mary) at the Saint Padre PIO Catholic church, Ede-Adejoh in Idah Local Government Area.
The Catholic Bishop stated that the Diocese is honoured and delighted with the various contributions of Professor Ocheni over the years to the development of Catholic church.
Bishop Adaji said the completion of the Grotto at the Catholic church at Ede- Adejoh was another remarkable contributions of the former Minister to the church .
The Bishop who urged Professor Ocheni to continue to identify himself with the Church, offered special prayers for God’s protection and divine favour for the former Minister.
The Catholic Bishop of Idah Diocese who spoke on the significance of the Grotto (statue of Virgin Mary) to the Catholic community, appealed to Christians to uphold prayers in order to overcome evil machinations of enemies.
Bishop Adaji further advised Catholics to embrace constant devotion as well as the use of the Rosary, saying that with fervent prayers, believers will triumph over any evil plan.
The former Minister who was special guest at the occasion, said the important roles of Grotto in the lives of Catholic believers,prompted him to support its completion.
Professor Ocheni while acknowledging the work of God in his life so far, noted that God has being kind and merciful to him.
He added that he would reciprocate God’s kindness to him by dedicating his entire life and resources towards the work of God.
