The Chairman, Kabba Bunu LGA, Barr. Zacchaeus Dare Michael has asked political detractors seeking to distract Sen. Sunday Karimi to hold on until period of election, pointing out that how else do the want to define performance?, maintained that Sen. Karimi has performed excellently well.
Barr. Dare said without mincing words, Sen. Karimi has performed well, urged political detractors to hold on till election before deploying their arsenal as means of distraction.
Barr. Dare described the achievements and empowerment programs by Senator Sunday Karimi indeed worthy of commendation. He lauded Sen. Karimi’s efforts in securing
employment and Job Creation for youths in various Federal Government agencies and paramilitary organizations as commendable.
Under the Senator’s Educational Empowerment, the Chairman praised him for the launch of a N100 million scholarship fund for tertiary institution students.
and for supporting examination preparation programs, coaching, and provision of educational materials at both secondary and university levels.
He said he is equally aware of the Senator’s efforts to reconstruct the Government Science Secondary School (GSSS), Koton Karfe, at a cost of over N1.2 billion. Reconstruct the Pakuta Bridge in Aiyegunle Gbede (valued at over N17 million), a road that reconnect communities across three LGAs and extending into Niger State.
Barr. Dare said the Senator is working seriously in facilitating the resumption of work on the long-abandoned Kabba–Egbe–Ilorin road project through his intervention, praised him for the construction and rehabilitation of 140 boreholes (75 new solar-powered boreholes and 65 rehabilitated water schemes), totaling N1.24 billion in value.
Under his Rural & Community Development, Barr. Dare appreciated the
distribution of electricity transformers across seven LGAs to boost socio-economic activities as well as his several donations toward the completion of churches and mosques as well as provision of support to various socio-cultural associations in the district.
Other accomplishments which Barr. Dare mentioned include; Market and Traders Empowerment where the Senator disbursed N100 million to 50 women cooperative groups after comprehensive training programs.
He added too that Sen. Karimi has empowered 1,000 traders with N100,000 each across seven LGAs. Supported 400 traders under the Lokoja Arewa Traders Union and donated N10 million to victims of the Embwa road mishap.
Similarly, Barr. Dare praised Sen. Karimi for the donation of N11 million towards the rehabilitation of the Fish Market in Lokoja.
He further lauded him for facilitating the establishment of a Forward Military Base in Yagba West to tackle insecurity in the region.
Praised him for regular support to security agencies (military, police, etc.) during festive seasons. Donation of fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides to farmers across the senatorial district.
The Chairman said Sen. Karimi has also Invested in solar-powered street lights to enhance security and reduce energy costs in underserved areas.
Donated Toyota Corolla cars to several youths as part of empowerment initiatives.
He added that Sen. Karimi’s Political Support saw him
Disbursed N27.5 million to support APC candidates in the lead-up to Local Government Elections:
N7 million to each of the seven chairmanship candidates
N500,000 to each vice-chairmanship candidate
N200,000 to each of the 85 councillorship candidates.
For now he described Sen. Karimi as a man who is focused and working, should not be distracted, said he is doing his very best as the Senator representing Kogi West.
” We should have it at the back of our mind that this man is representing 7 LGAs, said no Local Government Area should demonise him because all his activities cut across the seven LGAs.
