I warmly congratulate your Excellency, Alh. Usman Ahmed Ododo on your successful swearing-in ceremony as the Executive Governor of Kogi State. I wish you every success in the fulfilment of your new mandate to guide our State towards stability, democratic governance, women empowerment and inclusion, the protection of human rights and economic development.
I am most excited and proud to have served the position of women coordinator for Adavi Local Government Area in the last APC Governorship Campaign Council in the State, an assignment which culminated into your today’s laudable breakthrough. I am confident however, that great things will emerge guided by your insight and compassion for innovation, learning and inclusion of those who have worked for the party.
I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate my sister, Her Excellency, Hajia Sefiya Ahmed Ododo, whose prompt attention to women’s plights had attracted countless number of women into the party. Her tireless efforts to ensure women are carried along during the electioneering period contributed very largely to the success we are celebrating today, and for the motherhood she demonstrated during the transition process, particularly in overcoming the many challenges and difficulties in gathering women for rallies during that period. I make bold to say without sentiment, that this victory is a result of her resilient and significant role played on women during the electioneering processes.
Your Excellency, I know that many priorities and formidable challenges await your new government. These include moving ahead with an inclusive developmental process and continuing to reform the security sector. On this basis, the Mama-Taofiq Political Group has resolved to remain committed to supporting you and your administration along the path of prayers, peace, democratic governance and equitable socio-economic development. We will also continue to work closely with your government to help tackle the root causes of instability and fragility in governance, including with regards to security, governance and resilient livelihoods to foster your promises and dedication to quality governance in the State.
Your Excellency, the women of Adavi Local Government Area whose voices I represented during campaigns, are patiently hopeful for their juicy inclusions into your administration for a continued partnership and in that spirit, please accept our congratulations as well as our best wishes for the success of the important work that lies ahead.
