Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna IJN has set an impressive precedent within his first year in office, earning the admiration of concerned citizens across Bassa/Dekina Federal Constituency. His remarkable achievements in both human capital and infrastructural development have proven his commitment to the welfare of his constituents and to the progress of the constituency as a whole.

In less than a year, Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna has distinguished himself as one of the most proactive members of the 10th Assembly. He has successfully moved over five motions directly addressing the needs of his constituents, demonstrating his dedication to effective representation. His contributions have placed him among the most effective legislators, a far cry from the term “benchwarmer” often associated with underperforming representatives.

Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna has initiated and completed five solar-powered boreholes in different communities, addressing long-standing water scarcity issues in the constituency. These boreholes, located in:

1. Adumu, Iyale Ward, Dekina District
2. Okura Ofante, Okura Ward, Okura District
3. Olowa, Ogbabede Ward, Biraidu District
4. Gboloko Ward, Bassa LGA
5. Odu Ate, Odu Ward 11, Dekina District
These are clear evidence of his commitment to sustainable development.

Additionally, Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna has completed a five-block classroom project in Emewe Efopa, Emewe Ward, Dekina LGA. These classrooms, fully furnished for students comfort, represent a significant investment in education.

Another notable achievement is the installation of 570 street solar lights across various communities. This project has transformed nighttime economic activities, especially benefiting petty traders and road users.

Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna has prioritized youth empowerment, trained over 2,000 young people in various skills and provid them with the necessary tools to start their own businesses. This initiative has empowered countless youths to become self-reliant and contribute to the local economy.

Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna understands the transformative power of education. Within one year, he has awarded over 100 scholarships to students pursuing tertiary education, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder their dreams of higher learning. Additionally, he has paid WAEC and NECO fees for thousands of secondary school students. To further encourage brilliant among them, he provided JAMB forms for the most outstanding students.

Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna has initiated Job Creation Program that have changed lives. Over 50 individuals have secured lifetime employment in paramilitary services, government ministries, and agencies, within one year he assumed office. This effort has not only provided stability for these families alone, but also contributed to the socio-economic development of the communities in Bassa/ Dekina Federal Constituency.

Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna IJN introduced the “Salary and Emoluments Donation program”, fulfilling a key campaign promise. This initiative allows stakeholders from the 22 wards of Bassa/Dekina to identify and address their communities’ most pressing needs. Under this program:

– Ogbabede Ward utilized ₦2 million to renovate Olowa Community Secondary School and construct desks for primary school pupils.
– Dekina Ward used their allocated money to renovate their Health Center.
– Ikende Ward initiated and completed a Police Station project from their allocated money and through combined efforts of Hon. Paul Gowon Haruna IJN support. To mention but a few.
This inclusive governance model ensures direct community involvement in developmental projects, fostering transparency and accountability.
