Hon. Monday Rizama Albert Applauds Ododo’s Stand on Internal Democracy, Calls for Equity in Dekina/Bassa Representation

Abuja, Nigeria — A frontline aspirant for the House of Representatives seat in Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency, Hon. Monday Rizama Albert, has commended the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his principled stance on internal democracy and his firm opposition to the imposition of candidates within the ruling party.
In a statement issued in Abuja, Hon. Rizama described the governor’s position as “bold, reassuring, and a true reflection of democratic leadership,” noting that it has rekindled confidence among party faithful and aspirants who desire a transparent and credible process.
He expressed strong belief in the leadership of Governor Ododo and the integrity of the party structure to provide a level playing ground for all aspirants to freely contest for the party’s ticket, rather than imposing unpopular candidates on the people of Dekina and Bassa Federal Constituency.
According to him, “the strength of any democracy lies in the freedom of its people to make choices without coercion. When the process is fair, the outcome will always reflect the will of the people.”
Hon. Rizama further emphasized the urgent need to address issues of equity and fairness within the constituency. He called on stakeholders, particularly from the Dekina axis, to support the emergence of a candidate from Bassa, stressing that the Bassa people have endured prolonged political marginalization despite their contributions to the growth and unity of the constituency.
“In the interest of justice, fairness, and inclusivity, it is only right that Bassa is given the opportunity to represent our federal constituency at this time. This is not just a political appeal, but a moral obligation to correct longstanding imbalance,” he stated.
He noted that his aspiration is rooted in years of grassroots engagement, accessibility, and commitment to the welfare of the people, assuring constituents of purposeful and people-oriented representation if given the mandate.
Reaffirming his loyalty to the party, Hon. Rizama pledged his continued support for the administration of Ahmed Usman Ododo, promising to contribute meaningfully to the realization of the government’s development agenda in Kogi State.
He concluded by appreciating the governor for standing firmly on the side of justice, equity, and democratic values, expressing optimism that such leadership will usher in a new era of inclusive governance and political balance in Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency and beyond.
