Ahead of November 11th governorship election in Kogi State, members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have been urged to timely obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and ensure they win their polling units for Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman (OAU) and Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu (JOS).
An APC stalwart and ally of Alhaji Ododo Usman Ahmed, Hon Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege also known as Fancy, gave the charge on Friday at the State Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) during the official unveiling of Ododo Progressive Movement (OPM).
He used the occasion to also charge members of the group on what he called “Operation Win Your Polling Unit,” which is a charge to all APC supporters across Kogi State.
While emphasising the directive of Governor Yahaya Bello on the need to strictly engage in issue-based campaigns, Hon. Fancy admonished members of the APC to shun mindless vituperations with the opposition on social media and physical gatherings.
He urged members of Ododo Progressive Movement (OPM) to equip themselves with the right information about the achievements of the APC under Governor Yahaya Bello-led administration in the last seven years, noting that such information is the weapon to conquer all fabrications that may emanate from the opposition.
Earlier in an address, the Convener of Ododo Progressive Movement (OPM), Engr Solomon Kayode said he was particularly convinced that Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman and Joel Oyibo Salifu have the pre-requisite experience, capabilities and statewide acceptance to consolidate on the gains of the New Direction Administration in the state.
Engr Kayode, who donated vehicles, crested vests and other campaign souvenirs promised to mobilise all his members to go to the hinterlands to educate people on the need to vote Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman in the forthcoming governorship election.
“We need to collectively work for the victory of the All Progressives Congress because a victory for Ododo is a victory for all the people of Kogi State. Alhaji Ododo’s governorship bid reflects the more glorious future ahead of us and we should be part of the positive future”, he beseeched.
Highlights of the occasion was the official unveiling of the group as well as other campaign paraphernalia donated towards the party’s success in the November poll.
