Pa Elder Philip Ibrahim Ene’Ojo, father to the Graphic Newspaper Accounts staff, Mrs Sandra Ojochogu Adele was laid to rest at his family home on Friday at Ikona-Agojeju in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The burial was preceded with a wake keep at his Lokoja residence at NADECO Quarters behind Oando filling station Lokoja.
His church, the United Evangelical Church (UEC), Lokoja also organized a befitting burial service for the deceased at the headquarters of the mission along Cinema road Lokoja. Dignitaries from all walk of life including former Kogi State Accountant General, Elder Ubolo Okpanachi attended the funeral programme.
Daughter of the deceased in a voice laden speech said her late father was so loving and trained up his children in the way and fear of God. She said, she and members of the family including the entire Igala land will miss him greatly.
Similarly the son in-law of the deceased, Barrister John Adele SAN who was a former member of Kogi State House of Assembly member described his father in-law as very humane. He stated that he will greatly miss his fatherly advice in his career.
In a funeral sermon, Pastor Friday Onoja of United Evangelical Church Lokoja read from Psalms 90:12. The minister of God emphasized on the need for christians to have an understanding that life is short on earth. He therefore called on christians to always remember that their lives on earth is numbered and hence people should make maximum use of their lives on earth to please God.
Members of the bench who attended the funeral service include, Justices S.A Husseini, Esther Haruna, S. O Ochimana, Yahaya Adamu, S O Abayomi, Ruth Alfa, Hawa Yusuf and Kogi State Attorney General, Justice Ibrahim Sani SAN. Former Assembly members include Rt Hon Segun Simoyan, Rt Hon Abdulrahaman Dangana and Hon Michael Abuka.
Pa Elder Philip Ibrahim Ene’Ojo was born at Agojeju on January 19, 1948 in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State. A trained Agriculturist, Pa Ene’Ojo rose to the position of Managing Director of Benue State Agricultural Livestock Agency Makurdi in 1985. He was also the Manager of Kogi State Livestock Lokoja before he retired in January 2001.
He left behind three children among whom is an account staff with Kogi State Newspaper Corporation publishers of The Graphic newspaper, Mrs Sandra Ojochogu Adele.
