High Esteem Widows and Orphans Foundation Closes 2025 Outreach with Record 2,025 Participants.
The 2025 High Esteem Widows and Orphans Foundation Outreach has concluded with a remarkable turnout of 2,025 participants, significantly surpassing the 126 individuals reached in 2024.
The High Esteem Widows and Orphans Foundation, a non-governmental organization dedicated to supporting widows in society, was led by its President/CEO, Dr. Mrs. Hannah Ujah, who organized this year’s Yuletide celebration to gift widows with essential provisions such as rice, beans, Maggi, tomatoes, salt, Indomie, and spaghetti.
According to Dr. Mrs. Ujah, the event focused on sharing love and affection, describing it as “her own little opportunity to give back to the needy.”
Among the dignitaries in attendance were Hon. Mrs. Hannah Odiyo, Former Head of Service, Kogi State; Pastor Mrs. Alice Alidu of Revival House Church; Chief Mrs. Damaris Agbogun, Chairperson of Goodwill Widows Association; and Rev. Mrs. Janet Ahiaba, Chairperson of Women in Mining, Kogi State.
In her address to the participants, Hon. Mrs. Hannah Odiyo emphasized that widowhood is not a death sentence but a phase, urging the women to prioritize their children’s education, discipline, and proper upbringing, while encouraging them to embrace God in all their endeavors.
Similarly, the Guest Speaker, Pastor Mrs. Alice Alidu, highlighted that widowhood is not a barrier but a stepping stone to unleash women’s strength. She encouraged widows to acquire enterprising skills and view challenges as surmountable, citing examples of successful widows in history. She reminded them to cling to biblical verses assuring God’s presence and support.
Chief Mrs. Damaris Agbogun and Rev. Mrs. Janet Ahiaba advised widows to cherish nostalgic memories of their late spouses while engaging with others to fill the void, helping them cope with daily routines and special occasions.
They commended the President of the High Esteem Widows and Orphans Foundation for uniting widows under a supportive umbrella.
Highlights of the event included fun games such as balloon and dance competitions, medical checks for blood pressure, exercises, and the distribution of balm lotions to all participants.
