The Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Accord Party has dismissed as false a statement credited to two individuals claiming to be leaders of the party in Lagos State.
The statement was allegedly issued by Oke Sewedo and Oladeji Oluwatosin, who presented themselves as leaders in Lagos West Senatorial District and Lagos State Chairman, under the platform of Concerned Leaders of Accord, Lagos State.
In the said statement, they had called on Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, to clarify his political allegiance over reports that he had been appointed coordinator of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 campaign in Osun.
Reacting, the BOT Chairman,Rev Isaac Adeniyi in statement , described Sewedo and Oluwatosin as impostors out to misrepresent the party.
The BOT said there is no known or recognised group called Concerned Leaders of Accord in Lagos State and urged the public to disregard the statement.
It noted that the only persons authorised to issue official statements on behalf of the party are the National Chairman, Barr. Maxwell Mgbudem, and the BOT Chairman, Rev. Isaac Adeniyi.
The party reaffirmed its support for Governor Adeleke, who is its National Leader, on his decision to support President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
It also commended President Tinubu for appointing Adeleke as his campaign coordinator in Osun, expressing optimism that the governor would mobilise support for the President beyond Osun State.
The BOT added that Accord members across the country are committed to working for President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
