Hausa Community leader  felicitates with Muslim faithful in Edo

The Chairman of the Hausa Community in Edo, Alhaji Badamasi Salleh, has sent a message of  felicitation to Muslims faithful in
Nigeria and Edo in particular as they  mark Eid el-Kabir.

Alhaji Badamasi Salleh gave this while speaking with journalists in Benin City on the Muslim celebration of Eid el-Kabir.

Badamasi said, though he regretted the present state in the country,  as the Covid-19 pandemic prevented  the Muslim from going to Hajj this year.

He admonished Muslims faithful to use this year’s celebration to reflect on the peace and unity of our dear Edo State and Nigeria at large.

“It is my hope that we use  this year’s celebration to reflect on the peace and unity of our dear, Edo State.

“I urge Muslims faithful to continue to pray for co-existence between Nigerians within and in the Diaspora.

On the issue of security, he advised the authority concerned to look inwards.

”The government should look inward and find out where the AK-47 are coming from. It is not the Fulanis in the forest. It comes from town. So there is every need to investigate the source of the weapons.”

According to him,” Fulanis in the bush are hundreds of kilometers away from the main road with their cow, and wearing rubber slippers with one side of it tied with rope. How could such person afford AK-47 rifle? People supply these weapons to them to work for them.

“They have motorcycles which they use to operate, who supply them fuel? There is need for government, stakeholders and all the security  agents in the state to come together and find urgent solution.

”We have to work hard to make sure we fish out these people that supply them with the weapons, there is the need to come together as brothers and cooperate with the security agents to fish these people out.”

He said, what is required is a stakeholders meeting between all parties involved.

Badamasi said, “Government should call all involved and discuss the way to come out of the crisis by meeting with the Fulanis, the different communities and all the security agents,” he concluded.
