HAPPY DEMOCRACY DAY: MUKADAM ASIWAJU ASIRU IDRIS,FCA HARPS ON COMMITMENT TO DEMOCRATIC IDEALS, NATIONAL UNITY

Today, as we commemorate June 12, we honour the enduring spirit of democracy, it inherent values that promote progressivism, and the legacy of our forebears who fought fiercely for its enthronement and sustainable practice.
Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola (MKO), a pillar of modern democracy and a reknown patriot, remains an inspiration. His unwavering dedication to justice and equity continues to motivate us to uphold the principles of democracy, transparency, and good governance.
As we reflect on our 26-year uninterrupted democratic journey, let us recommit to closing the gaps that have hindered our progress. Only entrenched democratic values and a renewed commitment to it practice can deliver those gains that find footings in an improved economy, water tight security, better infrastructure, and social welfare for all.
In Kogi State, under the able leadership of our chief servant, His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, FCA every government activity—projects, programs, and policies—are intentionally implemented through the prism of democratic values and tenets. Your continuous support and prayers would help the government to deliver more dividends of democracy to kogites
I will continue to reteriate the fact that the worst of democratic practice is still far better than the best of military government. Let us stay dedicated to strengthening our democracy to sustain freedom, progress, and national unity.
Together, we can build a future where democracy thrives and the aspirations of our people are realized, perfectly aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
Happy Democracy Day.
Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris, FCA
Hon. Commissioner of Finance, Budget, and Economic Planning, Kogi State.
