Hajiya Aishat Recounts Loss as Fire Destroys Her Building in Lokoja, Appeals for Help

Hajiya Aishat Kende Adamu, a staunch member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State, has recounted the devastating loss she suffered after fire destroyed parts of her three-bedroom building in Lokoja.

Recounting the incident in an interview with newsmen, Hajiya Aishat Kende Adamu said the fire severely affected the building, with the living room and sitting room sustaining serious damage.

She said she lost property worth millions of naira, as well as valuable documents, to the inferno.

According to her, several household belongings, personal effects and other valuables were destroyed by the fire, leaving the family to count their losses and face the difficult task of restoring the damaged portions of the building.

She described the incident as one of the most painful experiences for her and her family, saying the extent of the damage had placed a huge financial burden on them.

Hajiya Aishat appealed to the Kogi State Government and spirited individuals to come to her assistance, stressing that she urgently needs support to rehabilitate the affected parts of the building and replace some of the items destroyed by the fire.

She said the assistance of government, philanthropists, friends and other well-meaning members of the public would provide significant relief to the family as they try to recover from the disaster.

One of her children, Muhammad Abdulsamad, who also spoke to newsmen, recounted his mother’s losses and expressed concern over the impact of the fire on the family.

Abdulsamad said the destruction of valuable property and important documents had compounded the family’s difficulties, noting that the family now faces the challenge of repairing the damaged building and replacing some of the items lost in the incident.

He appealed to the Kogi State Government, philanthropists and other well-meaning individuals to assist his mother and the family.

According to him, any form of financial or material assistance would be highly appreciated and would help the family restore the damaged sections of the house and cushion the effects of the loss.

He also appealed to individuals and organisations willing to support the family to come forward, saying the family cannot bear the financial burden alone.

The family expressed appreciation to neighbours, friends and others who have shown concern since the fire incident, while calling for further support to enable them overcome the setback.
