GYB PROMISES TO PROMOTE CULTURE AND TOURISM POTENTIALS OF KOGI STATE.


 

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello has promised to promote the economy of the state through the Culture and Tourism sector.

The Commissioner for Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Hon Salifu Isah Idachaba made this statement in his speech during the inauguration of steering committee on Lokoja Cultural Carnival coming up in October this year.

Hon Idachaba who noted that Kogi State is blessed with abundant investment potentials in Culture and Tourism sector, also commended Association of African Descendants worldwide (AADW) for this initiative in projecting the image Kogi State to the outside world.

He further stressed that the hosting of such festival in lokoja cannot be over emphasised as it helps to boost the economy position of the state.

In his remarks, the world leaders of the AADW, Mr odiba Aladi Acheneje commented the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, his Deputy, chief Edward Onoja and the Ministry for their efforts to host the carnival in the state with adequate security and serene environment.

He reafirmed that the event has given opportunity to African Descendants in Diaspora to come home to invest in African Culture and Traditional heritage industries.

In his vote of thanks, the permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr Benjamin Ibrahim commended the group for organising the carnival, describing it as a welcome development.

Mr Ibrahim then advised members of the committee to ensure that they do their best for the success of the programme.
