Grassroots Connection: Wemi Jones Rallies Support for Ododo, ignites Resident’s hope in Ayede Bunu and Agbede Apaa

 


The Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Wemi Jones, on Sunday paid a familiarization and community engagement visit to his hometown in Ayede Bunu, reaffirming his long-standing tradition of maintaining close ties with the grassroots and interfacing directly with the people.

The gathering attracted community leaders, party faithful, as well as members of the Bassa, Gbagi and Ebira communities living within and around Ayede Bunu, who turned out in large numbers to receive the Commissioner and his entourage.

Addressing the people during the visit, Hon. Wemi Jones stated that he was delighted to be back home among his people, describing the visit as part of his usual routine of connecting with the grassroots and appreciating them for their unwavering support for the ruling party and the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

The Commissioner commended residents of the area for their loyalty and steadfast commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC), urging them to continue supporting the government of Governor Ododo in its drive to deliver meaningful development across the state.

Speaking further, Hon. Wemi Jones emphasized that the present administration remains committed to making education accessible and affordable for all citizens. According to him, Governor Ododo’s government is working tirelessly to ensure that education remains highly free across public schools in the state, as part of efforts to improve human capital development and secure a brighter future for the younger generation.

The Commissioner was accompanied on the visit by Timothy Amupitan, alongside his supporters and other party stakeholders.

In continuation of the outreach, Hon. Wemi Jones also stopped over at Agbede Apaa in Okebukun Ward on his way back to Lokoja, where he interacted warmly with residents and reiterated the importance of unity, peace and continuous support for the current administration.

As part of his humanitarian gesture and community support initiative, the Commissioner distributed food items and cash assistance to several residents, a move that was widely appreciated by beneficiaries and community members who praised his generosity and grassroots-oriented leadership style.
