Governor Otu declares Cross River restored as First Lady calls for total submission to God’s reign at 8th Solemn Assembly

The Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Apostle Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, has declared that God has fully restored Cross River State, affirming that the state has entered a new season of open doors, renewed hope and limitless opportunities.
The Governor made the declaration today at the 8th Edition of the Solemn Assembly, themed “Season of God’s Reign,” held at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Calabar and convened by the Wife of the Governor, Her Excellency, Bishop Dr. (Mrs) Eyoanwan Bassey Otu.
Addressing the congregation, Governor Otu reflected on the journey of restoration witnessed in the state since the inception of his administration.
“One of the most important things God has done is that He has opened the doors of Cross River State. The whole world will know that Cross River State is not the same again and that the doors have been opened,” the Governor declared.
Recalling the difficult state of affairs he met on assumption of office, he said many had written off Cross River State, but God had reversed the narrative.
“We came with a message of restoration, and God has done exactly that. Some of our signature investments and assets have all been restored. All our investments which were taken away have been recovered. What many Cross Riverians had lost hope over has been restored by God,” he said.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building enduring institutions that would empower citizens and guarantee sustainable prosperity.
“We did not come to deceive Cross Riverians. We did not come to share money; we came to empower the people. When we put the right structures on the ground, prosperity will naturally follow,” he stated, while urging citizens to remain united and focused despite distractions.
Earlier, in her welcome address, the Wife of the Governor, Her Excellency, Bishop Dr. Eyoanwan Bassey Otu represented by her Press Secretary, Dcns. Faith Okon-Egbujiem welcomed participants to the 8th edition of the quarterly interdenominational gathering, describing it as an opportunity to seek a deeper experience of God’s sovereign reign.
Drawing from Psalm 97:1, she emphasized that God’s authority remains supreme and that His reign brings peace, justice, hope and righteousness.
“As we assemble before Him, may every heart willingly submit to His Lordship so that His Kingdom will be reflected in our homes, churches, communities and our nation. May this gathering rekindle our commitment to holiness, obedience and love, and may this Season of God’s Reign leave us transformed, strengthened and filled with His everlasting peace,” she prayed.
Delivering the sermon, Archbishop Ofonmbuk Archibong of Intercessors Bible Mission charged believers to embrace three divine responsibilities necessary for experiencing God’s reign. She urged the congregation to first, accept the reign of Jesus Christ, next, accept the man God has ordained to lead Cross River State, Governor Bassey Otu, and then they can activate God’s reign through obedience, righteousness, and faith.
The service featured guest ministration by Sammy Sax, Minister Ekanem Esu, several Choir renditions by represented blocks of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Cross River State Chapter, including the Hope Waddell Alumni Choir, intense prayers, and prophetic declarations. In attendance were, Representative of the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Mrs Nelly Ayambem, his wife, Secretary to the Government of the State, Prof. Onwan Enoh, the Chief Of Staff, Hon. Chief (Dr) Emmanuel Ironbar and Wife amongst other Political Stakeholders.
