Governor Ododo Sends Kogi Students to China on Full Scholarship — NAKOSS Reacts

The leadership of the National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS) has applauded the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, for facilitating a fully funded international scholarship for selected Kogi State students to study at Hunan City University, China.
The scholarship initiative, which covers tuition, travel, and other essential academic expenses, reflects the Kogi State Government’s continued investment in youth empowerment and human capital development.
At a brief but symbolic meeting, the Governor personally presented passports and admission letters to the beneficiaries in the presence of their parents and guardians. The moment marked a significant milestone in the academic journey of the students, who are set to gain international exposure and world-class learning experience.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Governor Ododo charged them to remain disciplined, focused, and committed to excellence. He urged them to serve as worthy ambassadors of Kogi State and Nigeria throughout their period of study, reminding them that the opportunity is both a privilege and a responsibility to return home and contribute meaningfully to the development of the state.
In a statement, the National President of NAKOSS, Comrade Sunday Adeola Simon, commended the Governor for prioritizing the welfare and academic advancement of Kogi State students through impactful educational interventions. He encouraged the beneficiaries to remain steadfast in their studies, uphold good conduct, and make Kogi State proud while representing Nigeria abroad.
According to the NAKOSS leadership, exposing students to global standards of education enhances skills acquisition, innovation, and international collaboration—key ingredients for sustainable development in Kogi State.
Parents and guardians of the beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation to the Kogi State Government, describing the scholarship as a life-changing opportunity for their children. They noted that the initiative has opened doors that would have otherwise remained closed, especially for students from less-privileged backgrounds.
NAKOSS reaffirms its commitment to partnering with the Kogi State Government on policies and programs that promote quality education and youth development. The association also congratulates the beneficiaries and wishes them academic excellence and safe journeys as they embark on this new chapter.
NAKOSS remains committed to advocating for student welfare, access to quality education, and opportunities that empower Kogi youths to compete confidently on the global stage.
