Gov. Ododo Signs ₦820bn 2026 Kogi Budget, Pledges Development Push
Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo has approved the 2026 Kogi State budget of ₦820,490,585,443 as passed by the State House of Assembly. At the signing, he said the budget is designed to meet the “yearning and aspirations” of Kogi residents and will usher in a new era of development, with a strong focus on infrastructure and public welfare.
The budget allocates *₦365.43 billion* for recurrent spending and ₦455.46 billion for capital projects.
Key officials present included Speaker Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf and Finance Commissioner Asiwaju Asiru Idris, who noted the budget will be effective from *January 1 – December 31, 2026*.
