His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, Governor of Kogi State, represented by the Hon. Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Abubakar Bashir Gegu, has condoled with the family of late Alh. Usman Yahaya, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Yaman Nig Ltd, Ankpa, over his demise.
The Governor described the late businessman as a respected community leader and employer of labour. Late Alh. Usman Yahaya was the father of Engr. Muhammad Yahaya Ogbo, Executive Chairman of Ankpa Local Government Area.
Governor Ododo prayed for the repose of his soul and asked Almighty Allah to grant him Aljannah Firdaus and give the family the fortitude to bear the painful loss. He urged the people of Ankpa and Kogi State in general to emulate the virtues of the late Yaman, noting that his commitment to hard work, integrity and service to humanity made him a model for present and future generations.
His Excellency also cautioned youths across the state to shun social vices and embrace peace, discipline and legitimate enterprise. “If you avoid crime and remain focused, your businesses are certain to progress and contribute to the growth of our communities,” the Governor advised.
Responding on behalf of the family, Farouk Usman Yahaya thanked Governor Ododo for the condolence visit and solidarity. He prayed for Allah’s protection and guidance for His Excellency to succeed in the mandate bestowed on him for the development of Kogi State.
Engr. Abubakar Bashir Gegu, while delivering the Governor’s message, assured the family of government’s continued prayers and support. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive across Kogi State.
