Gov. Ododo, not unmindful of challenging times, soon to flag off distribution of Palliatives

 

… committed to cushioning the effect of rising cost of foodstuffs, inflation

The Special Adviser, Media to the Kogi State Governor, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, Ismail Isah says the government under the leadership of Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo is working resolutely to cushion the effect of rising cost of foodstuffs, poverty, inflation.

The Special Adviser said the Government is not unmindful of the challenges of cost of living in the society owing to the economic downturn.

The Special Adviser made the disclosure at a 1 Day Media Training On Human Rights and Social Inclusion organised by Stallion Times for the Media in Kogi State.

The Special Adviser, Media to Governor Ododo assured that the present economic challenges faced by Nigerians would soon be over as all hands are on deck at all levels of government to bring succour to the citizenry.

Hon. Ismail assured that the administration of Gov Ododo is resolved in cushioning the impact of the downturn in the economy, said as part of the administration’s short term measures to cushion the effect of rising cost of food stuffs, the State Government would in the few days flag off the distribution of Palliatives amongst other measures.

The present administration the Special Adviser disclosed would rely on dialogue mechanism in delivering good governance to the people.

The Special Adviser Media assured of the involvement of Community, Traditional and Religious leaders in dialogue that would sustain its peaceful status, assured of more coordinated approach that would involve all shades of citizens of the State in governance.

The Special Adviser added that the present administration of Gov. Ododo would sustain and build on the legacies of the present administration.

He assured that the feat achieved in the previous administration where the Youths, Women and Persons with disabilities occupied vantage positions in leadership would be sustained and improved upon.

While soliciting the support of the media in propagating the efforts of the present administration, the Special Adviser solicited for team work and collaboration.

In a remarks by the Project Coordinator, Stallion Times, Isiyaku Ahmed, said the training would enable Journalists appreciate conditions for gender equity and social inclusion in society and development.

Similarly, the training is to enable the media advocate for human rights and social inclusion through news coverage, promote human rights and social inclusion in the society.

In her goodwill message, Stella Edoka urged for reporting that would protect the female gender by bringing to the fore issues faced by Women in the society.

The One Day Training is with funding by Mac Arthur Foundation, is organized to train 30 Journalists working in the Print, Broadcast and Online Medium in the State. The training is to enable Journalists have an understanding of collaborative media engagement for development, inclusion and accountability.
