Gov. Ododo approves N8billion for Construction of Senate building, faculty of science, male, female hostels in KSU, Kabba.
The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo has approved the sum of N8billion for the the construction of Senate building, faculty of science, male and female hostels in the Kogi State University, Kabba.
The Kogi State Commissioner For Education, Hon. Wemi Jones stated this at a Press Briefing during the presentation of N5million complimentary cheque to Miss. Favour Oluwatimilayo Toyin Adebayo, a Kogi State indigene who is currently on scholarship studying in Poland.
The Commissioner disclosed that the State Government has been servicing education very monumentally, pointing out that the present administration of Gov Usman Ahmed Ododo is resolved to maintain and surpass the budgetary allocation for education.
He assured that following the approval of N8b, contractors will soon move to site in the next few days to begin construction.
The Commissioner added that the Governor has equally approved N316m for 8750 out of the 30,000 that applied for bursary in the first phase.
Similarly, Law school students from the State he added will henceforth as bursary enjoy N300,000 per students, for 201 law student cleared at a total sum of N60,300m
He added that the present administration will not back down in it funding of education, pointing out that a solid foundation has already been laid for education in the State by the previous administration of former Gov Yahaya Bello.
