Gov. Nwifuru’s Aide Builds 6 Ultra modern Class Rooms Block To School, Donates 2000 Books In Ebonyi

The Special Assistant to the Ebonyi State Governor on finance and special duties Hon. Amechi Nwali has built an ultra modern six class rooms block, including head teacher’s office and furnished it with desks, chairs, white board markers, ceiling fans and CCTV surveillance camera at Enyigba Community primary school Ishiagu in Abakaliki Local Government Area of the State.
The Governor’s aide also donated over 2000 exercise books, makers, rulers, pencils and other writing materials to the school to improve teaching and learning of pupils and students.
The SA to the Governor explained that his decision to embark on the project was driven by the dilapidated state of the school. He recalled how he was moved to tears when he once passed by and saw pupils sitting on stones and logs under a shattered roof while their teacher was struggling to write with a charcoal blackboard. According to him, that ugly sight spurred his determination to give the pupils a befitting structure where they can learn under decent conditions.
He emphasized that the gesture was his own way of supporting the administration of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, particularly in the area of human capital development. “The only way to prove that I love the government of Governor Nwifuru is to support his good works, especially as it concerns education,” he said.
He urged the pupils and students to take their studies seriously in order to give back to the society when they grow. “I’m looking up to them to replicate what I have done when the grow. Given back to the society is necessary and that is the best I have done and my mind is very okay with it” If you like Governor Nwifuru as an appointee you have to deprive yourself some comfort in order to make the likeness to come true”
He further appealed to Ebonyi state government to provide a primary healthcare centre and rehabilitate the road linking Enyigba with neighbouring Ikwo and Ezza communities while pledging his continued efforts to revitalize the public education system so that children of the less privileged can access quality learning opportunities.
While commissioning the project on behalf of the Governor, the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Dr. Donatus Ilang, extolled Hon. Nwali for the laudable initiative. He described the gesture as a perfect example of the public-private partnership model embedded in the Governor’s People’s Charter of Needs agenda for educational reform. He encouraged other privileged individuals to emulate Hon. Nwali in supporting government’s developmental strides and urged the school community and management staff to make judicious use of the facility by providing adequate security at all cost to avoid vandalism and called on teachers of the school to strive to give the pupils and students a sound education
The Commissioner also pledged to articulate some challenges of the village as raised by Hon. Nwali to the Governor for necessary action.
Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Abakaliki LGA, Hon. Stephen Ebere Nwogba, lauded the initiative and described the benefactor as a shining example of a good leader and Community development. He pledged his unalloyed support for all efforts geared towards uplifting the standard of education across Abakaliki LGA while urging the SA never to relent in his good works and prayed God to replenish him.
“The project would stand at the taste of time, any society that invested in education is investment for eternity and has planted tree of progress” he added
On his part, the chairman of the occasion who doubles as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Ebonyi State maintenance agency , Hon. Ben Nwovu who said Hon. Nwali has brought the peoples charter of needs home, described the gesture as a new dawn to the Community, saying that the edifice represented the international standard of education.
“He is not the highest appointee of Government from Enyigba Community but he has distinguished himself in governance and expressed gratitude to Governor Nwifuru for providing an enabling environment that encourages community-driven development.
In his goodwill message, the Secretary of UBEB, Dr. Livinus Ezeuwa praised Hon. Nwali’s benevolence, saying the project reflected Governor Nwifuru’s kind gesture in educational sector while adding that the board would ensure adequate monitoring to the teaching staff of the school to ensure they live up to the expectations.
In her joyful mood, the head teacher of the school Mrs. Amah Chidimma thanked the Governor’s aide for the project and promised that the facility would be effectively utilized to improve teaching and learning.
However, she solicited for deployment of qualified teachers, timely renumeration of primary school teachers, perimeter fencing to safeguard the valuable infrastructure and ensure security of the students and staff.
She prayed for God’s blessings on the benefactor to enable him to continue his humanitarian interventions.
The event featured the presentation of a meritorious award to Hon. Nwali by teachers and pupils of the school, as well as the distribution of writing materials including exercise books, pencils, rulers, markers, sharpeners, and erasers to the pupils of the school.
