Gov. Bello Means Business, Working To Make CUSTECH World Class – Hon. Wemi Jones


 

The Kogi State Commissioner For Education Science and Technology, Hon Wemi Jones says Gov. Yahaya Bello means business in making the Confluence University of Science and Technology Osara a World class tertiary institution.

 

The Kogi State Commissioner made the disclosure while taking team of Journalists from the Kogi State NUJ Council round ongoing construction work at the Confluence University of Science and Technology Osara, says CUSTECH remains the best place to study science and technology in the country.

The Commissioner reiterated the resolve of Gov. Yahaya Bello’s administration to reposition the Confluence University to enable it serve as a buffer for the production of Professionals and Scientists for the Country, pointing out that the world is gravitating towards Science and Technology, insisting that Kogi State with the vision of Gov. Bello is not lagging behind in lashing on to Science and Technology.

The Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the ongoing construction work going on at the University, said the administration has made it a point of duty to ensure value for money, quality execution of projects, described Gov. Bello’s quest to take education to the zenith in the State as unprecedented in the State’s history.

While pointing out that aside the increased budgetary allocation beyond the UNESCO recommendation surpassed by the Gov. Bello’s administration, Hon. Jones described the pace the Confluence University has reached in its few years of establishment as unprecedented.

The Commissioner explained that the Governor is not taking any chance in ensuring that the University is rightly positioned to meet the global demand for Science and Technology, said the establishment of the GYB Model Science Secondary Schools across the State, another milestone of the administration is aimed at supplying the needed students of Kogi State origin to study at the University, described the University as the envy of all in view of the seamless academic calendar it had operated that is devoid of strikes.

The Commissioner disclosed that Gov. Bello means business, assured that all ongoing construction work at the University would be delivered at the appropriate time, as assured by the Consultants, and inview of the Governor’s political will geared towards making education in the State, with the University world class in the Country.

The Commissioner used the opportunity to call on students wishing to study science related courses to take the advantages presented by CUSTECH, described the University as the best place to be and a destination for the study of Science and Technology.
