Gov. Yahaya Bello has been commended for making notable impact in the education sector since assumption of office.
The Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon Wemi Jones gave the commendation at a paper presentation: prioritizing Education As Prerequisite for a Peaceful Society; The Kogi State Example.
The Commissioner made the disclosure AT THE FIRST ANNUAL GYB MEDIA CHAT/SEMINAR FOR POLITICAL AND CRIME CORRESPONDENTS/EDITORS, disclosed that since year 2020, the budgetary allocation to Education was increased ‘to 20% of Annual State Budget in the State.
He pointed out that the decision was borne out of the desire to ensure quality education service delivery at all levels in the State.
Hon. Wemi Jones linked prioritizing education the Gov. Bello’s example as a pre-requisite that has led to a peaceful and harmonious and peaceful society in Kogi State, urged other states to take a cue.
He listed Drafting of State Education Sector Plan 20212020 and State Edu Strategic Operational Plan 2021-2023, Establishment of University of Science and Technology, Osara and several others as major achievements recorded under the present administration.
