The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja, Dr. Usman Ogbo has described Governor Yahaya Bello administration as the type which came in the political history of kogi State demystifying Political war lords, god-fatherism ,recycling of political office holders and installing mentorship in Political culture to the Youths of the State.
Comparing and contrasting the ” Political leadership since inception ,Ogbo said the State and its people observed a Society where her leaders failed to lay foundation for the Youth and women folk the chance to contributes their quota towards its growth and development.
The University teacher maintained that since Governor Yahaya Bello took over the mantle of leadership postion as the one number citizen of the young and fast growing confluence State, he has successfully changed the toga of what was obtainable and practiced in times past in the State
Ogbo explained that the Governor through his pragmatic approach and providing a congenial atmosphere for Youths to show case their potentials and agility necessitated they appointments to occupied sensitive governmental postions contrary to what were observed during the previous political leadership of the State.
Ogbo who leadership as the Rector of the State owned polytechnic Lokoja continuee to receive outpouring recognition and praises for fast-tracking transformational educational changes to the Institution within the shortest period he assumed office posited that the Governor disposition towards governance has traucated Youths involvement in acts that will lead them into insecurity and other anti-societal behaviours because their are adequately engaged.
Speaking on the topic:’YOUTHS IN POLITICS THE GYB MODEL”,during an event held in honour of Mr.Onogwu Mohammed, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Yahaya Bello by the University of Jos Alumni held in Lokoja,oulined couragous,competence,selflesness ,risk taken, audacity,integrity,dynamism,transparency,capacity,dependability,reliability,positive rebelous and agent of positive change as attributes needed to be possed by Youths if they are to be successful in life.
“As touch bearer of youths ,Governor Yahaya Bello broke the chain of limitations placed on the destinies of many kogi youths by bringing them onboard to actively participate in the political development of the state”.
”To part take in the GYB model,Youths should not wait to be given power but take it through the ballot box to gains political power”.
“Be courageous,fearless,audacity,and not afraid of mistakes because in it one learn adding that Youths should not counts the number of failure but success should be their focus”.
