Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Niger state council has appeals to Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger state to show more human face to release more fund to the state and Local Government pension Board so that many Pensioners would be captured.
In a letter written to the Governor dated 31/01/2023 made available to Journalist’s commending the Governor for releasing funds for payment of gratuities to both the state and local government pension Board,observed that the money can not go round considering the back log of retirees in the state, hence for the Governor to release More funds for the payment.
“It has become necessary for the Union to write the letter,looking at the untold hardship Pensioners are facing resulting to sickness and untimely death of our members.
Mr Governor Sir,it will interest you to note with sadness that many Pensioners are critically sick and so many are at the point of deaths for none payment of their gratuities,this is where many have put their last hope to own a shelter.
According to the letter, many retirees can not Carter for their immediate family needs as a result some of their children’s have dropped out of schools because of fee.
The Union therefore appeals to the Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello to save souls of our dying senior citizens “is not a crime to work for thirty five years (35 yrs) meritoriously to left unattended by the government to die this way, “Please Governor Abubakar Sani Bello save the souls of Retirees they are dying on a daily basis sir”.
The Union further appeals to Pensioners in the state to cooperate and continue to show understanding while the Union pursue their legitimate rights and benefits.
