Today in history, Gbede witnessed a new dawn as Col. Olusegun Oloruntoba (Rtd) ascends the ancestral throne of Gbede Land and his forefathers.
History is made here in OKoro Gbede on this day as we all witness the crowing of a worthy, refined, and articulate man as the paramount ruler of Gbede Land. I register my sincere and heartfelt felicitations with our King and the entire Gbede sons and daughters home and abroad.
Oba (Colonel) Olusegun Oloruntoba (Rtd) has demonstrated good leadership qualities over the years while serving the country diligently as an army officer up to the rank of a Colonel in the Nigerian Army. Col. Olusegun Oloruntoba (Rtd) is an illustrious son of Gbede Land who has proven himself worthy of this mantle of leadership passed on him today.
With the antecedents of His Royal Majesty as an unassuming and highly courageous leader who believes so much in peace and community development, I am optimistic and with a strong believe that the tenure of His Royal Majesty, Col. Olusegun Oloruntoba’s (Rtd) reign as crowned Olugbede of Gbede Land will usher in a new dispensation of rapid community developments, and adequate human security across board.
I therefore use this opportunity to join thousands of the admirers of our new Oba, to say that his reign shall usher in more peace, joy and prosperity to the land of our forefathers.
