Good News: Gov. Ododo Delivers Brand New Transformer To Old Lokoja Water Works To Enhance Water Supply

 

…Commissioner says it is a major step to the supply of water to Lokoja.

 

The Commitment of the administration of Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo to ensure the seamless supply of portable water to people living in Lokoja Metropolis have been enhanced with the delivery of a brand new transformer to old Lokoja Water Works.

The process to install the Transformer according to the Commissioner for Water Resources, Engr Yahaya MD Farouk has commenced immediately, will end tomorrow.

Recalled that the challenges of power supply to the old Lokoja was mentioned as one of the major factors hindering the supply of water to the metropolis according to the Water Resources Commissioner for Water Resources at an engagement with stakeholders last Sunday at Angwan Tiv area of Lokoja.

It will also be recalled that the Commissioner had in the meeting promised the release of water to the metropolis beginning from today Wednesday.

But with the delivery of the Transformer today, the release and supply of will be disrupted since the Water works has been temporary shut down following it disconnection from the power source to enable the installation of the brand new transformer.

The Commissioner who was on ground to inspect the transformer, which is being installed. however informed the general public that following the disruption, the supply of water, all things being equal, will be restored by Friday.

The Commissioner expressed his appreciation to Gov Ododo for the release of the transformer, described the gesture as a major step to the supply of water to Lokoja.

The Commissioner pointed out that Gov. Ododo’s gesture is in furtherance of his effort to provide portable water to the people of Lokoja.

Engr. Farouk explained that following the complaints of Power affecting the seamless supply of Water, the Governor swiftly approved and released a brand new transformer that will enhance the operation of the Old Lokoja Water Works.

The Commissioner for Water Resources while thanked Gov. Ododo for making the Water sector, a top priority in his administration, solicited the support and cooperation of the citizens to owning and protecting of all Water Projects in their areas.

The Commissioner praised the citizens for their patience, assured that very soon water challenges facing the people will be a thing of the past.
