The General Scrap Dealers association, Zuba FCT branch Mr Bernard Christian Ogbona, has reiterated his irrevocable Commitment and dedication towards repositioning the association to it rightful and normal footings to the admiration of it members and the general public.
Mr Bernard Christian who was recently elected as the president of the association in a keenly contested election monitored by security agencies, disclosed this in an exclusive interview with our correspondent, noted that the association was in total disarray and near collapse as a result of ineffective and selfish leaders that were hitherto in charge before he assumed the mantle of leadership.
He promised to lead with the fear of God and place the association on the path of progress for the interest of all members.
Reacting to questions on how they source for their goods considering the nature of their business and the likelihood of criminal elements infiltrating their suppliers, Mr Bernard stressed that any supply coming in to the Zuba scrap market must be thoroughly investigated and certified by security agents.
Secondly, particulars or receipt of the goods or supply in question must be tendered before purchase by any member of the association,he added.
According to him, the challenges currently faced by the association was insecurity as some criminal elements had invaded some of their shops in the past, he however, maintained that he swung in to action immediately he assumed office by employing the services of security agents and local vigilante to secure the market and put a halt to the menace of criminal elements.
He further Solicits the support and cooperation of the entire members to enable the association achieve it set goals.
