G37 Political support group for Chibuike Rotimi Amechie condemn assassination attempt on  APC Rivers State Deputy Governorship Candidate, Dr. Innocent Barikor.


 

 

G37 Political support group for Chibuike Rotimi Amechie has condemned the assassination attempt on the life of deputy governorship candidate of All Progressive Congress, APC in Rivers State, Dr. Innocent Barikor by yet to be identified persons.

 

The Deputy Governorship Candidate, Dr Innocent Barikor narrowly escaped death in Portharcourt yesterday in the night while coming  from a meeting around Government Reservation Area , GRA but the police orderly whose name was given as Dogo died in the process as a result of injuries sustained from the gun shots.

The National Coordinator of the group, Comrade Evans City in a statement said the act was barbaric and uncalled for.

He called on the Rivers State police command to fish out those behind the dastardly act and fish them out .

Comrade Evans City further appealed to political actors in the state to desist from violence and promote peace which is the sure way to  development in the State.

” This act is dangerous and we are calling on the relevant authorities in the State to ensure safety of the Apc Deputy Dr. Innocent Barikor Governorship Candidate, Dr as well as all other APC candidates in the state .” He stated .

G37 equally congratulated the minister of State for Environment, Hon. Udom Udi and that of Ministry of NigerDelta, Chief Umana Okon Umana on their inauguration and assigned portfolios by President Muhammadu Buhari.

He charged them to make the South- South region proud by leaving up to the expectation br discharging their duties in their respective ministries .
