FUL LOKOJA IGALA STUDENTS HONOUR SSA STUDENT AFFAIRS, HON. OMONU JOSHUA “LEVELS PUMPING” WITH AWARD OF EXCELLENCE

 

The Igala Students Association, Federal University Lokoja Chapter, has honoured the Senior Special Assistant to the Kogi State Governor on Student Affairs, Hon. Omonu Joshua, popularly known as “Levels Pumping”, with an Award of Excellence in recognition of his outstanding contributions to student welfare and youth development.

 

The award was presented during the association’s Day Celebration held on campus in Lokoja. The event drew students, stakeholders, and dignitaries from across the State.

 

In his remarks, the President of the Association described Hon. Omonu Joshua as a visionary leader, a bridge-builder, a passionate advocate for students, and a shining example of purposeful leadership.

He was further described as compassionate, approachable, proactive, and deeply committed to the advancement of Kogi students both at home and in the diaspora*. Members hailed him as “a true son of the soil, a listening leader, and a relentless mobilizer”* whose door is always open to the concerns of students.

The association noted that since his appointment, Hon. Omonu has prioritized student engagement, peace, and unity among Kogi students across tertiary institutions. His interventions on scholarships, welfare, and student-government relations have earned him wide commendation.

In a moving dedication, Hon. Omonu Joshua dedicated the award to His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State.

He said:
“I dedicate this honour to my principal, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, a governor who believes in the power of young people. This award is a reflection of his commitment to youth inclusion, education, and good governance. I am only a vessel through which his vision for Kogi students is being actualized. To God be the glory, and to Mr. Governor, thank you for the trust and opportunity to serve.”

Hon. Omonu used the opportunity to charge Igala students to remain focused, disciplined, and united, assuring them that the Ododo administration remains committed to creating an enabling environment for learning and leadership development.

The celebration featured cultural displays, goodwill messages, and calls for greater student participation in governance.
