The Publisher, Editor in Chief, The Nigerian Post Newspaper, Abu Michael has asked President Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu not to turn the country into a minefield of death occasion by hunger and untold hardship.
The Publisher made the disclosure in a statement issued to Newsmen in Lokoja described the recent display of insensitive by the President in the cost of fuel as unbecoming.
Mr. Abu asked the President not to try the patience of Nigerians, called on the APC the Party he represent to call him to order as he is toying with the destiny of Nigerians by impoverishing the masses beyond the elastic limit.
The Publisher described the untold hardship currently faced within a country of over 150 Million Nigerians not enjoying three (3) square meal by reason of the removal of the subsidy as unfortunate, said rather than kill the corruption in subsidy as inhuman, Mr. President only succeeded in Killing subsidy, the only National asset Nigerian are enjoying.
Mr. Abu notes that in just 60 days in office as President, public opinion he said is presently describing the present administration under Tinubu as the worst to have inflicted pains on Nigerians, urged him to be weary of history as time is not on his side.
The Publisher notes with concerns that after the APC led administration brought hardship on Nigerians for eight years under former President Mohammadu Buhari, said the present administration, rather than respite, from day one in office, multiplied the hardship with ignominy.
While noting that in just his first hundred days in office, the present government has made life of poor Nigerians miserable, lamented that rather than the renewed hope promised, Nigerians are experiencing renewed homelessness.
Mr. Abu urged the President to through his policies let the poor breath lamented the recent hike in petroleum price as unimaginable and least expected with palliatives not yet forthcoming.
Mr. Abu described the N8000 promised poor Nigerians, less the N10000 the former administration paid to vulnerable Nigerians in this age and time as making mockery of the lives of the people.
The Publisher said Nigerians can no longer endure the hardship anymore, pointing out that If the lives of the poor masses is not bettered from this year, starting with a drastic fall in PMS price, opening of foods and vehicular borders, strong appreciation of the Naira against the Dollar, fall in the price of house rent and a drastic drop in the prices of foods and other goods and services; it will result to a state of breakdown of law and order, with crime rate automatically made normalize for an average Nigerian to survive.
The Publisher urged the President to look inward and see beyond subjecting average Nigerians to untold sufferings to avoid unhalted reactions across-the-board, asked that the renewed Hope Agenda he promised be made the benefit of the poor/average Nigerians.
