In what has become a tradition, touching lives of orphans and vulnerable in the society, the wife of Kogi State former Deputy Governor, Mrs Tokunbo Awoniyi has once again given a facelift to the Margret Ohiani Orphanage home located at Zariagi, area of Lokoja, Kogi State.

Part of the facelift carried out by Mrs Awoniyi include the renovation of the buildings.

Aside the civil work, Mrs Awoniyi embarked on the painting of the complex, changed the Mosquito Nets, doors as well as painted the entire complex, thus making it wear a new look and habitable.

Towards making sure the children in the orphanage are comfortable, she equally changed all the mattresses and bedsheets in the home.

Speaking with the Nigerian Post, Mrs Idowu Abu who was on hand to ensure that the renovation work was done to specifications, said it was Mrs Awoniyi’s usual gift to the children during the yuletide, described this year’s intervention as unprecedented.

She added that it is a passion for Mrs Awoniyi over the years to ensure that the children at the home live comfortable, assured that this would not stop the yearly donation of foodstuffs, clothings and other support to the home for the Christmas.

In a remarks, the Home Manager, Mrs Margret Ejembi, described the support from Mrs. Awoniyi as coming at a better time, particularly that the mattresses, beddings, windows and nets in the home were wornout.

She used the opportunity to thank the wife of the former Deputy Governor for a decade of touching the lives of the children at the home, particularly in a time when everyone is not finding life with ease.
