Fitness, essential for excellent service delivery – NIS Bayelsa Comptroller

The Bayelsa State Comptroller, Nigeria Immigration Service, (NIS) Mr. James Sunday pcc, has said that keeping fit is essential for Officers and Men of the command.

 


He harped on the importance of fitness in efforts to keep the body and soul together and relaxed for effective and efficient service delivery, sound judgement and high level professional standard, which he said is worthy of an internationally acclaimed service as NIS.
He spoke when he set a standard for fitness for the Officers and Men of the Command in Bayelsa State.
He explained that he initiated sports, and recreation, such that officers and men will embark on scheduled exercises on Tuesdays and Thursdays to boost their morale.
Sunday said, “There is a saying that you are addressed the way you dress. For this wise saying, keeping well-fitted officers, who appear smartly dressed, is key to every organisation with a high standard, both in operation and human relations.
“Ours is a service that relates with both the locals and International communities in the delivery of our mandates and statutory assignments.
“This scheduled exercise for Tuesday and Thursday every week, will go a long way to keep the officers fit and smart, both in uniform and at work, akin to International best practice and expectation.
“The Officers and Men of the Bayelsa State Command appreciate the Acting Comptroller General, Isa Jere Idris, for the choice of the Comptroller, that has boosted the officers’ morale for maximum performance.”… Continue reading
