The Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory, Dr. Ramatu Tijani Aliyu has been conferred with the Friend of Ijumu Award by the Ijumu Development Union (IDU).
National President of IDU, Mr. Taiye Atibioke while speaking at the presentation of the Award which also featured the 2021 Documentary Calendar, a compendium of history of Ijumu as well as profile of Ijumu personalities.
Mr. Atibioke said the award was conferred on the Minister in view of her contribution to nation building especially love for community development.
The President said the Union is happy to identity with the Minister, following her track record and immense support to the upliftment of the wellbeing of the masses.
He enjoined Dr. Ramatu Tijani Aliyu to sustain her good work and described her as an Amazon and a blessing to Kogi West, Kogi State and Nigeria in general.
Responding, the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Tijani Aliyu who was represented by a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC in Ijumu Local Government Area, Hon. Dapo Olutekunbi expressed appreciation for the honour done her and dedicated the Award to God and the entire Team Ramatu members.
Dr. Aliyu stated that “I must also thank the organizer of this program for the honour given me to be part of this laudable project of completing the National Secretariat of the Development Union (a.k.a Ijumu Hall of Unity). I am always delighted when I see communities coming together to execute projects as this that unite them.”
She congratulated the National Executive Committee of IDU and the entire people of Ijumu Kingdom on the launch of the Calendar and promised continue to support efforts that will promote harmonious co-existence among the people.
“As people in government we owe it a responsibility and duty to ensure that our people live in harmony for a progressive society. Finally , I urge the people of Ijumu to Continue to give their support to the present Federal Government under the Leadership of President Mohamodu Buhari, assuredly this government will continue to do her best to ensure that promises made are met.” The Minister said.
