
The First City Monument Bank Rural Banking has kicked off in Kogi State with the commissioning of 28 agents to drive the process has been described as a process that will drive the economy of the State.
Mr. Phillips Kolewole Ezekiel, CEO Philips Consult, and the Master Agent of the new innovation engaged by the First City Monument Bank described it as the first Rural Monument Banking in the State.
Speaking with the Nigerianpost, Mr. Philips said the intention of the rural banking is geared towards boosting the economy and business of small holder farmers and Small and Medium Enterprises located in rural areas.
With the FCMB Rural Banking, Mr. Philips Consult explained that farmers and Rural dwellers would not need to travel to urban cities for banking transactions again, pointing out that with the new innovation, the agents of the bank can carry out BVN normalization, Print ATM cards, open account, added that Rural dwellers can pay all forms of taxes and bills using the innovation without necessarily having to come to urban centers.
Philips Consult disclosed that aside the 28 agents commissioned by FCMB through the Consult, the agents are permitted to recruit a staff each, lauded FCMB for its giant strides in terms of the use of ICT, Digitalization, expressed optimism that with the agents, FCMB now has its pesence in all the state.
He said the new innovation allows for the agents to handle savings and withdrawal at almost no cost, described the FCMB Rural Banking innovation as SME compliant.
In a remarks at the occasion, Kogi State Manager of FCMB, Balogun Abubakar, said the Rural Banking is the banks way of decentralization FCMB banking services.
He said the agents can open and manage account of customers, urged the agents to sustain the qualities of hard work that enabled them to be selected by the bank.
The Manager described the State as agrarian in nature, urged the agents to encourage Rural Farmers to be dragged into the banking community net.
Highlights of the official launch of the FCMB Rural Banking was the presentation of lectures on Documentation and the essence of customer care service by Joy and Blessing, Staff of FCMB Lokoja as well as the official presentation of the machine to the 28 agents by the Kogi State Manager of the Bank.
