Ex. Dir. Idoko Foundation Describes AGILE Project As A Game Changer for Adolescent Girls in Kogi.

 

Prince Onuche Ezekiel Isaac, Executive Director, Idoko Foundation, has expressed optimism that the Adolescent Girls’ Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project newly began in the State will help change the narratives of encouraging the girl’s child education as well as discourage adolescent girls dropping out of School.

Prince Onuche, made the disclosure after a stakeholders engagement between the State Agile Project Coordinator, Civil Society Organization and Media Executives in the State, held at the Government House.

Prince Onuche lauded the capacity of Dr. Bello Abdulhakeem, Kogi State Coordinator of the Adolescent Girls’ Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) State Agile Project Coordinator to take the project to it logical conclusion, said with the overview of the project objectives, if well implemented, Agile Project remains a game changer.

The Executive Director said the World Bank-assisted initiative under the Federal Ministry of Education, is aimed at improving secondary education opportunities for adolescent girls aged 10 to 20, expressed optimism that the Project would be beneficial.

The Executive Director said as Civil Society Organization working to encourage girl child education amidst several challenges, the Agile Project he disclosed could not have come at a better time than now.

He urge the AGILE Coordinator to focus more of it activities in the rural areas where, he said there is a high rate and incidence of adulescent girls either not going to school or dropping out of school.

The Executive Director praised the Kogi State Government for partnering with the World Bank for project in ensuring that it empowers the girl child becoming self sustaining.

Prince Onuche praised the Project Coordinator for the initial steps he is taking towards building sustainable blocks for the AGILE project.
