Ex. Dir. Dual Care and HIV prevention Initiative Seeks Collaborative Efforts In Providing Nutritional Support To Children Infected With HIV/AIDS.


 

Pastor Mrs Roseline Alabi, Executive Director Dual Care and HIV prevention Initiative has called for collaboration in the fight as well as in providing support to persons infected with HIV/AIDS.

 

The Executive Director Dual Care and HIV prevention Initiative made the call at the monthly nutritional support for people, particularly children infected by HIV/AIDS.

 

Mrs. Alabi said the monthly program provides an avenue for her organization to offer nutritional support and drugs to children infected with HIV/AIDs as well as to monitor their responses to drugs, cautioned against stigmatization.

While pointing out that HIV/AIDS is not a death sentence, she said with the right drugs, adherence and constant intake of the drugs in the right dose, people infected by HIV/AIDs will live a healthy life for as long as they want.

Mrs. Alabi expressed appreciation to Gov. Yahaya Bello for appointing her as the Board Chairman, Kogi State Agency for the Control of Aids, said the appointment has offered her the opportunity to make impact on the lives of people particularly children infected with HIV/AIDS.

While she explained that HIV/AIDS is not contracted through sex alone, listed blood transfusion amongst other methods that the disease can be acquired.

Through her organization, Mrs. Alabi disclosed that children infected are sent to school with their school fees paid, described HIV/AIDS as a disease that is manageable with nutritional support and drug adherence.

Mrs. Alabi Called for support for persons infected, said it is a disease that is found in almost every family, said through her Intervention children no longer die.

The Executive Director used the monthly program to send appreciation with people who have collaborated with her in offering support to children infected, mentioned the Kogi State Head of Service Mrs Hannah Odiyo, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, Hon. Sandra Mimi, who serves as Special Adviser to the Organization, Hon. Jumoke Tijani and a host of other persons too numerous to mention for the support in cash and material that has kept the program ongoing.

In her remarks at the occasion, the Special Adviser to Dual Care and HIV prevention Initiative, Hon. Sandra Mimi, lauded the efforts of Mrs. Roseline Alabi for her commitment, consistency in providing the monthly nutritional support, urged the children to pursue life with all the seriousness it deserves so as to become better future leaders.
