Kogi State Honourable Commissioner for Works and Housing, Engr. Abubakar Ohere (FSNE) has again, given financial support to over 3000 women in Kogi Central Senatorial District.
The Commissioner in his address said the gesture was to extend the compassion of the new direction Government of Alh. Yahaya Bello hands of fellowship to vulnerable persons in the area and to enable them feel the presence of Governor Yahaya Bello at the grassroot level.
Engr. Abubakar Ohere, represented by Hon. Bilikisu Onumoko, President, Fair Win Women Advancement Association (FAWWASS), hailed the beneficiaries for their steadfastness and sense of responsibility, urging them to make good use of the cash support and remain committed to the success and development of the state.
Engr. Ohere assured the people that more empowerments would be done until it reached all and sundry in the state and also used the occasion to urge the people in the area, particularly the women, to ensure they are being captured in Kogi State Health Insurance Scheme, an initiative of the state government to provide easy access to health fascilities in the state for all kogites.
Also speaking at the event, Alh. Yahaya Karaku (a.k.a Obama) who sets up the committee that oversees the implementation of the programme at Ahoge, Okene, noted that the financial support will, no doubt, go a long way to alleviate the sufferings of the beneficiaries.
He lauded Engr. Ohere for the gesture, saying his series of empowerment programmes and various interventions, has justified the confidence his people reposed in him.
He prayed Allah to continue to bless him and his family and appealed to others who are placed in positions to emulate his kind gestures.
