The Deputy Chairman of Arewa community in Rivers State who is also the Rivers State All Progressives Congress (APC) Non Indigene Chairman, Alhaji Haladu Danu has applauded the Rivers state Governor His Excellency, Nyesome Wike and the mayor of port-hacourt for their efforts which averted the ills that would have befall the the Arewa community in Rivers state during the #endsars protest which was unfortunately hijacked by some hoodlums who used the situation to wreck havoc on innocent Nigerians, particularly the Arewa community in Rivers State.
Alhaji Haladu disclosed this to our Correspondent recently in an exclusive interview at his port-hacourt residence. He further maintained that the statesman-like demonstration of the Rivers state Governor is highly commendable.
In his words, ” if not for the apt and timely actions of the Governor the situation would have being more disastrous, but his quick response help a lots in restoring normalcy in the state.
He also commended the mayor of port-hacourt Hon.Victor Ihunwo for Standing by the Arewa community in the state during their trying moments, “the mayor personally called me severally and rode to our quarters to know and see if we were secured after several attempt by hoodlums to attack our quarters (Arewa Community at Okwa Street CFC.
So the mayor’s quick response and that of the indigenous Youth also helped us alots “.
He however, said some of his people were seriously injured by the rampaging hoodlums, but were immediately rushed to hospitals for treatment.
He Called on the the Arewa community in Rivers State and other non indigene alike to live peacefully with one another for harmonious coexistence.
